ALBUQUERQUE, N.M, Feb. 4, 2019 – When a big play happens this season, Lobos fans can enjoy stronger connections as they share the moment with friends and family. AT&T* boosted its network at Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit with a new antenna system that will provide faster, more reliable wireless service.
AT&T upgraded its network by installing a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS). A DAS is made of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T wireless network coverage. It shortens the distance a call or text must travel. Simply put—calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a data “traffic jam.”
“When our customers cheer on the Lobos, we want them to have a great network experience,” said Terri Nikole Baca, president of AT&T New Mexico. “We’ve improved the network so they can easily make a call or share their experiences on social media.”
AT&T also recently added a new cell tower to its 4G LTE network at University of New Mexico to help provide faster, more reliable wireless service on campus. These upgrades are part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to increase speeds, add capacity and expand network availability using the latest technology.
