Now wanted: Girls who want to learn how to code in Arizona

Girls Who Code application

Fact: There are not enough women in tech. And Girls Who Code and AT&T want to help flip the script by giving girls an early and better understanding about the exciting careers of the future.

Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit that seeks to inspire, educate and equip girls with computing skills for the 21st century. As part of AT&T Aspire, AT&T has supported Girls Who Code since 2014, and we’re thrilled to once again host the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Programs this year.

The 7-week Summer Immersion Program teaches young women — rising high school juniors and seniors — everything they need to know to become super coders. No prior coding experience is required. In between learning mobile app development to robotics to web design, girls in the program receive exposure to the real world of computer science through field trips and meeting some of the top executives of technology companies.

In 2017, AT&T will host the program at offices in 6 cities across the country: Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Girls Who Code is now accepting applications for the 2017 program through March 17. Individuals can learn more and apply here. It’s time to rule the world, coding girls!
