Also in May, AT&T sponsored the Albuquerque Smart Cities Conference hosted by the New Mexico Technology Council. The 1-day conference featured discussions and panels focused on advancing smart city technology and policy in the state.
AT&T hosted a panel on “Public Safety and Smart Cities.” The panel featured a senior advisor from FirstNet, which is working with AT&T to execute the development and build of the nation’s first broadband network for public safety, as well as a representative from New Mexico’s Department of Information Technology. The panel focused on how FirstNet will support safer and smarter cities by driving innovation, security and interoperability for public safety across the country. The FirstNet network will modernize public safety communications and provide first responders with technologies to help them keep themselves and others safe during day-to-day operations and emergencies.
